2001 Barossa Valley - Shiraz

This is an Australia wine.  Tasting date Oct  28, 2006
I tried this wine on two different weekends and I just did not like it. In fact, I have two more bottles I just plan to give away - probably to my friend Burt, who will drink anything - lol.

Not only did I try this wine two separate times, I had two other people try it. No one liked it. While the nose of the wine was pleasant, the taste was just awful. Now granted, my taste lean to Syrah (which is basically the same grape from France) and Rhone wines, but this was just difficult to drink. I tried decanting for several hours; different temps. Only when I ate a Beef Brisket was it tolerable. Perhaps it just needs the right dish, but it is definitely a pass for me.
